    BIOS Changes

Hello - I have just tried to update the Bios on my ASUS Motherboard and I'm in the situation of not being able to exit Bios. It tells me there are no changes, etc.

I'm not an expert in PC's and especially not Bios (but for last few hrs slightly better!)

The PC supplier advised of the file to use and how to do it - although not overly clear.
The file was Prime z390 P. I believe it has been installed as it is showing on one of the settings in the Bios.

I have tried many things but only way to turn off = is by pulling the plug out.
Otherwise I cannot exit bios as it think nothing has changed. Then restarts to Bios.

    Please HELP?

One other item - In Bios - in Secure Boot - it is showing my USB stick that I used to load the new file, in the Boot Option #1 setting. The other setting is labelled Disabled. Boot override is showing the USB stick.

I only wanted to try and load Windows 11.

    Many thanks.

To exit BIOS just press F10.

To update BIOS under BIOS is the safety way to do it.
Save the downloaded and extracted BIOS file to a USB drive.
Once in BIOS look for quick BIOS update. Browse to the extracted BIOS file on the USB drive and begin update. Once it begin the update let it finish, don't interrupt or shutdown.

Thanks - I think my keyboard is a bit weird - as I cannot access @ easily.
I think it needs to be coded to US Keyboard? Asus PC.
That's maybe why F10 doesnt work. I haven't been pressing FN before - a bit confsuing to a novice

F10 didn't work. It just goes back to Bios EZ Mode screen. I'll try and load a video

Hi - yes i did that, but it returned to Bios screen.
The Information shown seems to be the new update = PRIME Z390-P BIOS Version 3006
I press F10 to exit, it think there are no changes and returns to the BIOS screen.

The PC company where we bought it said new SSD is required. It was working a day previous.

#1 I suggest you post a photo of the Bios screen so others can refer to things decently [such as how to exit the Bios].

#2 How did you get into the Bios?

#3 Your SSD has nothing to do with a problem using the Bios.

#4 You can deal with any remaining Boot order problems once you know how to get into & out of the Bios.

#5 If you want help with your keyboard layout, I think the quickest way of starting such a discussion is to post a photo of your keyboard that is clear enough for the markings on the keys to be read.

    Best of luck,

Sorry - getting a bit stressed.

What I have done - on the request of the company which sold us was that in order to upgrade to Windows 11 from 10, I had to download this version bios from Asus - which we did and it matches. Asus Z390 - P. The old number version 2808, so we updated to 3006.
When running this in Bios it seems to go around in circles. The company which sold us said it could be faulty SDD, but it was working (as far as I know) and we can see it in Bios.
I have attached a few images of the current Bios. Basically the company says we should be able to see the SDD in the Boot menu. We can only see the USB drive when trying to use that.

One of the images shows how it was before I messed it up

Basically when I flashed the drive - it came back with American Megatrends screen and we thought it should do its stuff, when we press F1 to run setup. It then goes to the Bios screen as shown in image 4 & 5.
I have changed the X.M.P to be Enabled as that was it was set to originally and now the Storage Information does show more details to the SDD.

As Denis already said, the SSD has nothing to do with BIOS settings and it seems to be working OK.
I don't know why you cant exit Windows pressing F10. I can see from the BIOS image you posted that to Save& exit you press F12
I can also see that your Realteck LAN is set as the first boot option. Is it correct?
I think it should be Adata UEFI.
    Can you boot into windows?

I was given and threw out a Logitech keyboard the other day, some of the keys were marked more for a UK language than US language such as it had the Pound and Euro symbols and others, not useful unless installing both versions of English.

Also of importance, mostly with Notebooks, is having to use the Fn key in combination with others for hardware functions, mostly the other marking same color as the marking on the Fn key.

Cannot get to Windows - keeps going into Bios.

    Re: Realtek
On the images - Bios at time 16:47 (version 2808) this was when it was working
Bios at time 18:27, 19:57 (version 3008) this is when it wasn't working and kept loading in Bios

Is that makes sense or am i missing something? I cant see Realtek anywhere else apart from the 16:47 image.

I had thought about trying to find Bios 2808 but not from Asus?

The fact you can't boot has nothing to do with BIOS version.
Is Windows on a server (boot from LAN) or installed on your computer (boot from ADATA - Windows boot manager)?
You have to change the boot priority on BIOS.

During post press F8. Do you see a ADATA - Windows boot manager option?
