Win 10 re-install stuck at REGION screen mouse + keyboard no response

During a Win 10 re-install, my PC downloads and installs but I can't progress beyond the "Choose region" screen because the mouse and keyboard do not respond. Please has anybody solved this before and can help? Thank you.

One of the ideas mentioned here may help:
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...d-413c0a841032

How exactly are you doing the 'reinstall'?

    Did you
    - create a bootable disk using the MS media creation tool
    - boot your PC from that
    - delete all existing partitions from your old O/S
    - continue the installation
    - i.e. a clean install - or something else?

What sort of mouse/keyboard- in particular how are they connected? Wired? Wireless?

    Thanks.

    You need a hardware-connected mouse & keyboard.
So, if you had a laptop, its built-in mouse & keyboard could be used.
For a desktop computer you'll need to connect a mouse & keyboard by USB or, in many or possibly all cases, ones connected by WiFi dongles.
Bluetooth-connected devices will not work until after Windows is already installed & booted into.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

    And welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

Hi, thanks for replying, re-install via download.
    Do you mean..
    - using the MS update assistant
    - an in-place upgrade repair install
    - a Windows reset
    - something else

All those involve some kind of download.

If your reason for 'installing' Windows -whatever that means... is that your old installation was problematic... were there any peripheral-related problems?

And have you checked your disk somehow or other if your installation became corrupt?

And note that clean installs can be avoided if you routinely use 3rd party disk imaging so you can restore your O/S and any image partitions to a previous good state from your image files.

somewhat as the link I posted suggested:
    1) Try all other ports on the PC, often the front and back will have different USB controllers

What do you mean by "During a Win 10 re-install"?
    - Is it a Clean install when you boot from a Win 10 USB installation drive?
    Clean Install Windows 10
    - Is it a Repair install when you run Setup from a Win 10 USB installation files?
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
    - A Win 10 Reset?
    Reset Windows 10

    Resetting the PC.
    Not using a disk.
Proprietary apps started to fail (calculator, photos wouldn't open), then my PC wouldn't get past the login screen. Ended up doing a reset.
Tried all USB ports makes no difference.
