Recovery Partition question Win 10 Home

    Version 10.0.19045.3930

I would like to expand my Windows Recovery Partition from the current 500Mb to 1Gb.

But my Partition table is this

    DISKPART> list part

    Partition ### Type Size Offset
    ------------- ---------------- ------- -------
    Partition 1 Recovery 499 MB 1024 KB
    Partition 2 System 100 MB 500 MB
    Partition 3 Reserved 16 MB 600 MB
    Partition 4 Primary 232 GB 616 MB
What is the best way to expand this Recovery partition?

I was thinking of deleting Part 1, shrink Part 4 and then make the recovery Part at the end?

With minitool partition wizard you can enlarge recovery partition as it is in current location.

Install minitool partition wizard. Launch and right click on the recovery partition, choose extend, next to take free space from: in the drop-down menu choose the c: partition (if there was unallocated space you will have the choice to choose the unallocated space too, but this is not required) , drag the slider right or left to choose the quantity, click OK, and at the top left click apply.

    @iammike
If it doesn't work then move/recreate the partition at the end. Don't forget the reagentc /disable command before recreating the partition.

May I ask, wouldn't this cause for the Recovery Partition to be split into 2 parts (if that is even possible)?

Reason why I ask is because that System (100Mb) Partition is in the way.

No if you read my message correctly you are taking up space on c: and minitool partition wizard will not divide the recovery partition. The msr partition cannot be moved, it is this which can block the enlargement. As already said if that doesn't work recreate the recovery partition at the end of the disk.

    reagentc /disable
shrink a gb off par 4 to create 1gb unallocated
create a recovery partition from that 1 gb free space
delete the original recovery partition par 1
    reagentc /enable

    Everything done.

Did it with Diskpart and this is now the layout

    DISKPART> list part

    Partition ### Type Size Offset
    ------------- ---------------- ------- -------
    Partition 1 System 100 MB 500 MB
    Partition 2 Reserved 16 MB 600 MB
    Partition 3 Primary 231 GB 616 MB
    Partition 4 Recovery 999 MB 231 GB
Only disadvantage is that I have 500Mb unused, but not a major issue, as this is my System Drive (which I only use for Windows and Programs. Data etc etc is on another drive.

    Thx for the help. Appreciated.

Edit: I just checked and with >reagentc /info it says "Disabled"

    Any ideas?

    DISKPART> detail partition

    Partition 4
    Type : de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac
    Hidden : Yes
    Required: Yes
    Attrib : 0X8000000000000001
    Offset in Bytes: 249011634176

Volume ### Ltr Label Fs Type Size Status Info
    ---------- --- ----------- ----- ---------- ------- --------- --------
    * Volume 5 winRE NTFS Partition 999 MB Healthy Hidden
    - - - Updated - - -

Problem Solved. Reagenct /info is now giving this

Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration
    Information:

    Windows RE status: Enabled
    Windows RE location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk1\partition4\Recovery\WindowsRE
Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: 22643538-b5ab-11ee-8b9c-2cfda1e1e7f1
    Recovery image location:
    Recovery image index: 0
    Custom image location:
    Custom image index: 0

    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
What I did was mount the install.wim from the install media and extracted both WinRe.WIM and ReAgent.xml from there to C:\Windows\System32\Recovery and then typed in reagentc /enable, then again /info to verify and it was enabled.

Also did a reboot and the /info said it was still enabled!
