    POST Screen

    Hi,
I recently upgraded an old hardly used Toshiba Satellite C660D to W10(total failure of pre-installed W10 PC). Whilst everything seems to be ok, I noticed at startup I get no POST screen. Before upgrade I would get a screen with "Toshiba leading Innovation" splash right before computer launched into windows.
Since upgrading this does not happen ,I first get a blue blank screen, then straight into Welcome screen. I used Windows 10 ISO 64bit from MS Media Tool Creator for the upgrade, did I use the wrong method or is this normal after upgrade?
    Any advice welcomed
    Thanks Rayal

Within BIOS make sure to disable Fast Boot and from Windows 10 disable fast startup.

One thing with startup is that using the Windows shutdown may not fully turn the computer off. Next time hold down the On|Off button for 8-10 seconds and it should turn completely off. Then try again. It's a 'feature' of Desktops with ATX motherboards and Notebooks/Laptops, always keep a bit of power to the motherboard.

Back in the days of 80386, 80486 and early Pentiums one could adjust the BIOS to display the full P.O.S.T. [Power On Self Test] to delay the OS starting to load because the HDDs of the day didn't run as fast, had to delay loading the OS long enough for the disk/s to get spun up. My first computer, '92, was an AMD 80386/40MHz.

Further to my post about P.O.S.T screen I have done a bit of research on this matter and it seems this is associated with not being able to access BIOS function and the solution is to re-install /update BIOS.
I have tried various ways to access BIOS -all to no avail.
I have downloaded the correct BIOS application and tried to follow a tutorial on updating BIOS. Unfortunately one of the steps is to access the BIOS application, the very thing I cannot do, so I am stuck at this point. This problem has only happened since upgrading to W10 so I am assuming somehow W10 has knocked out/corrupted the BIOS. My computer/laptop does not have UEFI only BIOS.
Can anyone advise what I should do next?
    Thanks

Do a cmoss reset, power of the computer and unplug the power cable, there should be a light on the motherboard that indicates power wait until that light turns off then remove the coin battery wait about a few minutes like a minute or longer go get a drink or something. Come back put the battery back in and then power the computer on.

Try to get into bios which should be possible you will have to rest settings in there to how you want them. You will have to take the back off of the laptop.

Windows 10 should not of messed with the bios and i am struggling to see how it would effect it, it will be a setting that you changed like the other person mentioned fast boot or something.

Another thing you can try is just make sure you are mashing the right key as soon as the computer turns on because if fast boot is on then you might miss the window. keep mashing until the computer beeps at you.

Shutdown the computer,i.e. power completely off.
Then restart and as soon as the power is returned, hold down the Pause/Break key and see if that gives access to the Bios.

It would surely help to know the make and model of the computer as the key to entering the BIOS is different between brands, e.g. my Dells use F2, my HPs use Esc, some motherboards in custom computers such as Gigabyte will use the Del key, etc.
