    different capacity memory upgrades

Hello, I want to ask about memory
I have 16GB DDR4 and 8GB DDR4 with the same speed, but different brands. Is it safe to combine it?
My device Lenovo T470 with 2 slot memory, support max 32GB.

    About memory:
    Team Group 16GB DDR4 2400 (CL 16-16-16-39)
    Ramaxel 8GB DDR4 2400 ( CL i dont know) Standart Lenovo
    Thanks before

    @error404

Go here and choose whichever Thinkpad T-series laptop you have...

    Lenovo ThinkPad T Series | Memory & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

Although either of those memory sticks "may" work... you really don't want to "guess" with RAM (memory).
Everything your computer does... it does through the RAM.

Get compatible RAM when upgrading. The Crucial site I linked will find compatible RAM for you.

    apparently it is cl17

    Technical Specifications for RMSA3260MB78HAF-2400

should be ok, they will just run at whatever is the lower speed.

I always recommend not to mix memory sticks, even with same speed and timings.
As SIW2 said, it may work but different sizes will allow only 8+8 G to work as dual channel. The last 8G will work on single channel.

thank you for the solution, so basically the specifications (speed, timing, size, and brands) must be the same?

    Yes, that is the ideal.
Sometimes even same brand memory sticks use different chips.
That is why you find on the market "kits" with 2 or 4 memory sticks that are called "matched pairs".
