Showing System Reserved Partition in File Explorer?

    Hi

For some reason Windows 10 is showing the System Reserved partition from Windows 8 in the File Explorer window.

    It never did this before.

    See Drive D:\

Just remove the drive letter and it won't show in explorer anymore,

Do you have your dual boot menu now ?

If NO, run EasyBCD first, than remove drive letter.

Please post back another screenshot when booted into Windows 8. We need to see if System Reserved is even booting your 8 OS any longer, or if Windows 10 is providing the System boot for both OS's. We cannot see this in 8 until you are booted into it.

    Hi

Just got back to look at this post.
I can tell you that the boot menu is controlled by Windows 10.

I had to run EasyBCD from Windows 10 to set up the boot menu, doing it in Windows 8 had no effect.

Everything is running really well so far.

Did you unplug the WIndows 8 drive during install of Windows 10? This should have left both drives independently bootable via the BIOS even if you added 8 to a Windows Boot Menu from 10 using EasyBCD.

The sure way to know if 8 HD is still independently bootable is to confirm if the System Reserved partition is marked System Active while booted into Windows 8, then power down to unplug Windows 10 drive to see if Windows 8 will boot on its own.

If not we can help you restore the System Reserved partition to boot Windows 8 or you can leave it the way it is which will require Windows 8 to be repaired in order to be able to ever boot itself again from its own HD. If you choose to leave it the way it is I would also mark System Reserved Inactive so the BIOS doesn't query it as a boot partition if it cannot boot Win8, as only the partition actually booting the OS(es) should ever be marked Active: Partition - Mark as Inactive - Windows 7 Forums
