Depends what you want and what your budget is.

There is a list of supported cpus somewhere but it basically means for official win11 support you would be looking for intel 8th gen or newer and if you are an amd fan ryzen 2nd gen or newer. Need ram as well because they take ddr4.

Could probably get a decent cpu/mobo/ram for about £120 that is much better than your current system and has win11 support.

    for example:

    i5-8400 £30 at cex . 2x8gb ddr4 £36 at cex.

Plus either h310 mobo for £35-40 or for more connections if needed a b365 motherboard is £55-60 which you can find on auction sites.

    similar for amd stuff.

Then in about three/four years the current 13th gen will be available second hand reasonably.

b365m has 6 sata ports. However in adition to m.2 nvme and x16 and x4 pcie, it also has a couple of pcie x1 slots

you can add a couple of sata ports easily with a little adapter on a pcie x1 slot

this is just an example, there are plenty to choose from some are even cheaper

You can "sort" for anything on PCPartpicker... these have ATX motherboards with 8x 6GB/s SATA ports

Part List - Intel Core i5-13400 - PCPartPicker

Part List - Intel Core i7-13700 - PCPartPicker

    Part List - Intel Core i7-13700 - PCPartPicker <---- DDR5 RAM

All the socket LGA1700 motherboards with 8x 6GB/s SATA ports (I would stick with the Z790 boards)

If you find you need to replace it, and don't mind buying a used motherboard... just google you current motherboard make/model, and check the ebay results.

The motherboard and CPU that you have now are both the top of the FM2+ motherboard world.
You have no upgrade path from there.
You would need to change to a new series of motherboard and CPU.

The one I linked above, is a pretty good deal for the price.
Well there is GA-F2A88XM-D3H (rev. 3.0) Mobo being MATX which is fine but to make the most of a system especially old ones then full factor will usually mean the most features hence upgrade path.

    G1.Sniper A88X (rev. 3.0) Overview | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global
best board for his socket but also rare and hard to get there is other options though. 6800k is also FM2 he has a whole range of FM2+ to go to as we are talking about a hybrid socket.

The next thing is win 11 compatibility as already mentioned if you care about that then that is the only issue and if you don't there is nothing stopping legacy systems going to 11, OP did ask about replacing their existing motherboard with more of the same which initially suggest that they may be looking for a cheaper option.

Not trying to downplay anyone else as new system is a valid suggestion as we are several gens over now but if they were asking for a new computer build then that would of been the context of the thread from premise, hence why i relayed my response as i have.

A pc shop confirmed my mobo is faulty ordered a used one from eBay but this one has a P at the end of the model GA-F2A88XM-D3HP whereas mine is D3H can't see any difference except mine is 3 years older

    UPDATE
Well I got a 2nd hand fan from eBay, spent the afternoon fitting it, I left the CPU ( AMD A8-7600, ) and fan that came with the mobo, just for convenience, but the CPU fan roared very loud and the keyboard was dead, and no mobo Beep….monitor blank.

Decided may be the CPU that came with the replacement Mobo was faulty, so installed CPU from my “ faulty” Mobo, PC fans all running ok, but again Keyboard not working no Mobo Beep and monitor blank…..

Just don’t know what to do now……tried resetting the bios, which at least got me into the bios when I first had problems, but now

    Any help please

Well not good news, did you check for reputability of the seller? Its easy to buy used parts that are no good and its also easy to get burned by buying form the wrong person.
I did try to relay this earlier that you want to buy from someone that is actually an refurbished parts seller not someone just trying to sell their old computer,
that link would of given you a good example on what to look for, not sure why it wont work for you link works fine for me.

The listing for the item you bought will be gone now because you bought the item but if you have any information or can still see the listing for the motherboard then maybe post that info here so we can read it. Like did it say that it was working?

Often sellers will list stuff as parts only and if you miss it then you might buy something that does not work. You may also just got burned because that is also easy to happen.

On the flip side if you know what to look for and what to avoid then you won't have this problem either.

I think without knowing the integrity of what you have bought and also your approach to diagnosing something like this then personally i would ask for a refund.

There is one more identical mobo for sale, the description is All boards are removed from working PCs. All boards are tested to ensure they are in full working condition. The board will come with a free heatsink, x2 SATA cables and I/O shield”Motherboard replacement-4ba26c6f-7c21-4cc5-9328-875d93949cec.jpeg

The mobo is being tested at my PC repair shop, so I’ll soon know, if it’s faulty I will return it.

Then I need to look for an 8 port Sata 6GB or possibly a 6 port and get a 2 port adapter, a budget CPU, with img graphics if suitable for basic Photoshop work, and music editing, no gaming, 16GB ran I assume plus a graphic card if an int gout is not suitable, not being a tight wad, but pc not used for much or very often, so want something budget, but reasonably capable, suggestions would be good….
    Thanks

I have monitor keyboard mouse & power supply……
