Moving SSD to a new pc

I guess this isn't a new question, but I have a 10 year old pc, want to build a new one and fit my existing ssd, it has W10 which I got during the free upgrade from W7, it's linked to my email, as I understand it, so what's the best process to move to my new pc

That is only part of the story. OP will need to run the activation troubleshooter to transfer the activation from the old device to the new device.

If your existing installation is BIOS /MBR (we don't know) and the new one is configured for UEFI/GPT - there's work to do.

Further- never risk your original SSD. Clone it and use the clone, create a full disk image of everything and store that securely.

Think- what could go wrong and how do I recover from that and avoid losing something...

Note too that using your old SSD in a new PC might not give you the best performance.
