I followed instructions. Have a 1.8 gb zip - I uploaded but don't see it. I uploaded to Google drive. Then tried to put it in this response but No deal. Thanks anyway.
I have tried to delete files that I have previously uploaded but do not see a way to do that. Clue me in.

    - - - Updated - - -

I have the log all nice and compressed and would like to upload it to you so it can be analyzed properly. I don't understand why someone cannot answer my question about the upload process. I deleted all of my previous uploads in the process as recommended but when I go look at the upload function, they are still all there.

Also, I have uploaded it to google drive - how do I get it over to this thread?

I went to Google, found share - took off of restricted -- link can be viewed by anyone. That's ok right? Assuming no one will be interested in this, except for windows 10 forum people, here it is.

Please perform the following steps: (in sequence)

    1) Post images or share links displaying disk management:

How to Post a Screenshot of Disk Management

    2) Run HD Tune: (free or trial version) (all drives)
    HD Tune website
Post images for results on these tabs:

The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another

Lord - looks like one of those the cure is worse than the disease scenarios. Question -- if I manage to get through all of this, will it FIX the pc?
Also, I did a restore on 5/12 - I did not see a bsod on 5/13. Everything seems to be working smoothly. Thanks again for ALL of your help. Truly appreciated.

The D being my external drive - ??

The above were some of the findings within the collected log files along with some troubleshooting steps.

Anything can happen with computer software and hardware.

Yes - anything. I had xp and win7 and never experienced so many issues as with 10. Is 11 more stable?
Controller errors show up a lot. I'll have to google what those are about. Thanks.

I have 2 external drives. So each of these processes has to be run twice ??? to include D...?

Windows may report events in the event viewer.
Unfortunately all results may not be in one place or may not be recorded.
In addition, recorded events may no allow the read to identify the problem(s) as messages can by symbolic.

Please attach all recently used drives and test all drives.
Non-Windows drives can be tested during the day.
Windows drives can be tested overnight while sleeping.
Make sure that all drives are tested with the above tests and that images / share links are posted into this thread displaying the results.

Another option is to have the computer and it's drives serviced in a local computer store.

Yes, the last option is probably the best for me. I had a couple of major projects I was working on (saved) and put off doing the steps as you recommended. Unnfortunately, this morning it crashed and will not start.

I guess I will do another clean install of windows. If it is the western digital drive - no amount of installs will help. It will just keep crashing I suppose. Thanks again.

The thing that bothers me about this drive is every diagnostic of MS that I run says it is fine - what if I installed one of those m2 drives. would that perk things up?

What are the status of important files?
    Backed up?
    Need to be backed up?
    No important files?

Starting with a clean install is useful in differentiating hardware / driver problems.

Sea Tools can run bootable, on Windows, and on Linux.
Make sure that all drives are tested with the long generic test and that images or share links are posted into this thread.
(testing can be performed overnight while sleeping)
