What makes you think it has to be a retail license?

For what I know, the retail license was the only one that you could transfer from one computer to another.
I know that Win 10 doesn't care much if the Win 7 license is retail or OEM but I wanted to follow the agreement.

Change the generic Windows 10 OEM product key to the generic Windows 10 retail product key and the license becomes retail. Change the generic Windows 10 product key back to the OEM generic key and the license becomes OEM again. Microsoft allows you to change your license at will.

I also have decades old Windows 7 product keys from OEM COA stickers and they still activate the matching edition of Windows 10 on brand new never before activated VMs.
