Bree, thank you again for your help.

Not very friendly of Microsoft forcing some of us that don't have very old PC's to go through this or buy new devices.

I updated two supposedly non-compliant PCs to Windows 11 using the simple fixes in this thread. Both are receiving the standard monthly updates and have no issues.

I was pretty hesitant at first, mostly because my last upgrade (to Windows 10) was a bit of a headache. But this time around, I decided to give it a shot after reading some positive reviews. Honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised! The new interface is sleek and I've noticed some performance improvements too.

In this video, i will upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 on unsupported computer hardware. Although Windows 11 has a higher system requirement, you may still be able to perform an upgrade on an unsupported computer. The Windows setup has an “appraiser” service that checks to see if your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements for that version. It’s possible to replace the appraiserres.dll file in the Windows 11 setup with one from an older build of Windows 10. In order to replace the Windows 11 DLL with one from Windows 10, you’ll actually need the setup files for Windows 10.

One thing that helped me a lot was checking out some tutorials and tips on operatingsystems.info. They have some great resources that made the whole process a lot smoother. Plus, I found some neat tricks to optimize the new system which I wouldn't have known otherwise.

I'm curious, what has everyone else experienced with the upgrade? Any major hiccups or pleasant surprises? I've seen mixed opinions about the new taskbar and start menu – personally, I think it's a nice change but I get why some people might not be fans.
