Is there a list of To Do's before building a new system

When someone builds a new system they have to make sure they do certain things before the build with their current system, other than saved data I'm looking for a to do list of other things I might miss if not thinking about it. Hope this makes my question a lot clear.... sorry I wasn't clear in my OP

as cereberus mention. When building a new system.
Backup of personal data. You have that
Boot/install media as win10 install usb. You had that.
Drivers for your new motherboard as network drivers, chipset, graphic drivers as cereberus wrote. Have you downloaded that for your new system?
install/product keys for your software. I guess you have that?
More than that is not really needed for the install it self.. The rest of software as Firefox/chrome or what you using can be solved after you have your new system up and running.
When your system is installed, and you have made all tweaks as desktop theme, background, software.. Make a disk image of your system drive.. then you have a clean backup.

I have built to many systems and i don't do more then i have already mention in this and the before post.
The key thing i do is a image of the old system drive, just in case i have forgot something.. that way i can open that drive and retrieve it.

Do an estimate of how long you will need for your build. Then triple thst estimate. Give that estimate to your wife.
