    Stop Windows 11 Upgrade

Hi. On my son's Dell 7560 Workstation, I just went to do some win 10 updates. System taskbar says updates are ready to install. I looked in the settings and it says restart to finish updating to Windows 11. I have not updated any of my machines yet to Windows 11 and planned on holding off a while longer. Is there any way to stop the update? On my Dell 7760 I clicked on stay on Windows 10 in the update settings. That is no longer available on his 7560. I guess he must have clicked on the win 11 upgrade icon that pops up in the taskbar. On mine I was able to select stay on Win 10 for now.

    thanks for the help.

Maybe someone else knows of a better solution, but I am not aware of a way to abort the upgrade in the middle of the process. However, if you choose to allow the upgrade to complete, you can undo it and roll back to Windows 10. Be aware that by default, you have 10 days to perform the rollback:

Once you have resolved this, note that you can completely block any prompt to upgrade to Win 11 by using tutorial:
How to Specify Target Feature Update Version in Windows 10
(For Home use options 2 or 3)

(A simple search shows this information is widely posted on the internet).

Note: you can always ensure the existing state of your PC is preserved by routinely and regularly using 3rd party disk imaging, allowing you to restore your entire O/S and all files and any imaged partition to 'as was' should things go badly wrong.

Endlessly recommended here- various programs available.
