Does the keyboard work under BIOS settings?
I suggest you boot from a Win 10 installation drive and do a disk check.
At the Windows Setup screen, press Shift+F10 simultaneously to open a command line prompt and type:
    chkdsk C: /f

I wonder if what you uninstalled had a wider reach than you thought.
Years ago, my Dells had a utility called QuickSet that governed displays of battery power, volume control, display brightness & some keyboard settings.
It might just be a coincidence but perhaps it's worth you checking & reinstalling any Lenovo utility that claims to manage any of those things.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

The problem is, I can't boot from a USB flash drive.......I intended trying to upgrade from 32bit, to 64 bit......I've just done the same on two Toshiba Satellite's with no problems......but this Lenovo won't let me in to the boot menu......well, actually it let's me in, but won't allow me to change the boot order........

Boot order in the bios or there is also the boot menu in this one I believe that you should not choose the order but select the USB and enter.

Edit: Is it in the boot menu, f12 key, that you cannot choose the order?

You need to plug in a standard new USB Keyboard, it will just work.

That is what I did with my Toshiba laptop, to prove the Laptop Keyboard needed replacing.

Ok weird, I thought that in the boot menu you had to select with the up and down arrows and the enter key. It's like this on my old motherboard and on this video of an ideapad. Lenovo Ideapad 110 Bios Setup / Boot Menu Key & How to Install Windows 10 from USB Drive - YouTube

It gets weirder.......this morning when I switched it on, it went straight to the boot menu, AND the up/down arrows functioned !!.......I started Windows normally. using the enter key.........just tried it again, and it's gone back to how it was, arrow keys not doing anything..........very strange......EDIT....and even weirder, discovered that this machine has what's called a NOVO button....press it and it takes you straight to the boot menu.......select the boot from USB option, and it says "System doesn't have any boot option"......very strange.....FURTHER EDIT.......mmmhhh......it looks like something called "secure boot", is enabled......work in progress.......

If you have made usb windows support with rufus you must disable secure boot, if it is with Microsoft tools no need to disable secure boot.

I didn't know the novo button, it seems to be specific to lenovo. Introduction to NOVO button - ideapad - Lenovo Support EC
