    I think the op didn't have a windows installation, he was using an apple os.

    Thanks much for that; I did find a downloadable copy of it and must have put it in the right spot because Unigine "Heaven" and "Valley" benchmark apps now run correctly. I'm done with this computer now... handing it over to my #2 daughter who knows Windows, but needs a computer. Again, thanks a lot for your responses and your time.
