    Windows 10 2h22 DISM Problems


    I am using dism with this line : dism /export-image /SourceImageFile:Y:\install.esd /SourceIndex:6 /DestinationImageFile:Z:\Pro\install.wim /Compress:max
    I get 1392 error : The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. But I don't know what file or directory it is talking about , I have included a log file that dism gave. How do I fix this so I can extract the windows 10 pro wim? Please help!

    I think OP is trying to convert Install.esd and selecting a single sku.
    Convert ESD file to WIM using DISM in Windows 10

    I agree with you - easier to use standard iso rather than one created by MCT. Unfortunately for Windows 10, it is not obvious how to download the iso - you have to spoof browser to think it is not Windows. With Windows 11, there is a direct link.

    I think OP is trying to extract a index 6 (or 7) from a full install.esd and create a install.wim only with index 6 (or 7)
    index 6 = Professional
    index 7 = ProfessionalN

    [1].xml.txt (rename as [1].xml to open with IExplorer)

    I normally download the regular Win 10 install iso (with install.wim) from Heidoc
