    Installation Win 11 WEIRD behavior

I just bought a brand new HP Workstation Z1 G9 running Win 10 Pro. HP support gave me the link to install the complete Win 11 Pro drivers ans apps included. I installed Win 11 Pro 11 22H2 Build 2261.1194 from scratch.

The installation went just fine. After all the restarts, I seem to have had the Welcome screen with my User Name. Then the computer asked to install updates and then Restart.

After the restart (see attached images)
    1. The Welcome screen displays Other User instead of presenting my User Name
By pressing [OK] it prompts me to enter a User Name… mine. Welcome Other User appears at each startup,
    2. When I press Search in the Desktop, not only the displayed screen is blank, but no search is possible, because I cannot write anything
    3. I can't write anything in the Search of the Explorer
    4. I can't write anything in Find Parameter in Parameters
    5. I can no longer directly access the server, whereas before I could.
    6. To access the server, I have to enter the network ID and the password. Should I enter an ID and password of my choice? Or should I enter an already defined ID and password, and if so where can I find them?

    TNX for yr help

Hi, this is a Windows 11 question. You appear to be referring (though it's not absolutely clear) to a clean install of Win 11.

elevenforum.com supports Win 11 - I suggest you register there- you will find many tenforums members there.

When you post there, please clarify
    I installed Win 11 Pro 11 22H2 Build 2261.1194 from scratch.
That would imply you deleted all partitions of your existing Windows 10 and installed to unallocated space on your disk.
    Is that correct?

HP support gave me the link to install the complete Win 11 Pro drivers ans apps included.
This suggests this is a build customised by HP. Windows normally includes all drivers needed; exceptions can be hardware and features specific to a particular model.

There are several threads about not being able to type in search boxes on tenforums with solutions.

However, this forum focusses on Win 10. Those threads may help you with that, although you should not be experiencing such problems with a clean install. Feel free to search tenforums for thise threads.

Note too your PC is under warranty- so feel free to contact HP support and use their forum.

    5. I can no longer directly access the server, whereas before I could
    .
Which server? something to do with HP? If so, suggest you refer to HP.

    Hello

Really weird I already installed Windows 11 1 or 2 times I didn't have this problem.

You should do a clean install again or maybe before try to create a new user

Do not take the installation of hp if this is the case, make a Windows 11 installation media with the Microsoft tools, once Windows 11 is installed you go to the hp page of your computer and you download the drivers and applications.

If you create a new user you can delete the "other user" account.

There is no actual account called 'Other user'. That is what Windows displays if it is set up to automatically sign in as a user that doesn't exist on this PC. It can equally well be read as 'Windows didn't recognise that name'.

Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup

    @coukou
For "I installed Win 11 Pro 11 22H2 Build 2261.1194 from scratch" you mean that you booted from a Win 11 USB installation drive, deleted ALL partitions on the drive and then proceed, right?
Did you use a valid MS account during installation?
