2 Windows 10 Home 22H2 fatal errors

I set up a windows 10 22H2, clean install system on a spare ssd using my main computer, also a Windows 10 22H2 upgrade from Windows 8.1. I started cloning the new system to my main computer ssd with Macrium rescue usb. I had already cloned my current mail system to another spare drive , just in case.
The clone failed and told me to run chkdsk on the source drive. I closed the rescue drive and rebooted. My computer failed to boot and had a fatal error that Windows tools couldn't repair.
Same with the other drive. I recovered my computer with the clone I had made of it's drive so that's good.
I spent a bit of time setting up the Windows 10 clean install on the spare drive, transfering all user files and setting up all my programs, email,etc and I would like to try to recover it.
I ran DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc on it , according to them, there is no problem with the windows system.
I ran fixmbr, ok, fixboot, permission denied, rebuildbcd, ok. Still had fatal error.
Has anyone been here and know how to fix it?

Next time, don't clone. Image > restore. And use the program(s) installed on the computer, not a USB installation/device (use USB only to boot > restore to "new" disk).

I have never tried image/restore before. I never had a problem with cloning before and just kept using it. I will give imaging a try when I get the drive fixed or set up another one. Thank you for your advice.

Is it a desktop or laptop?
You installed a blank drive and did a clean install, that is, you booted from a USB Win 10 installation drive and installed Win 10 on the blank SSD. Is that correct?
Were other HDD or SSD attached to the computer?

Laptop is correct. A E5-575g.The ssd in it was a M.2 MX500 and I attached a San Disk Ultra II 480gb to it with a Apricorn usb to sata adapter. I have the Windows 10 on a usb drive.
The Crucial rescue dvd seemed to take longer to build than I remembered, but it said it was complete and worked fine for the first clone I did.

During a clean install, it is wise to disconnect/disable all drives other than the target disk. If what I think appears to have happened, I use the analogy of the Windows installation being like the puppy in the park ... it likes to leave its mark wherever it can. For Windows, if there other drives attached, Windows installation is prone to randomly (it may happen, it might not) to leave its "mark" (like important system files) on the other drive(s). Consequently, when re-booted, Windows looks for its files neatly corralled on the C:\ drive. Lo and behold, there's "missing" system files, because they're not where they should be.

Was a significant "fault" in Windows 7/8,x, not so much in 10/11 but has been known to happen.

Most of the time, I have the target drive in a usb adapter for the install. This time since my laptop
can connect to two HDDs, one Sata and one M.2. I had both of them in the laptop. I have done this same thing many times before and never had any problems. I don't doubt what you said, but my suspicion is the San Disk drive may have developed a problem that I was unaware of or the Rescue program to access Crucial from boot was corrupted.

The drive you was installing windows was internal or on the USB to SATA?

Please post a whole window Disk Manager image of your drives. Don't forget to expand the columns so we can read them. How to Post a Screenshot of Disk Management
If you have a MiniTool or AOMEI Partition use it instead or Windows disk manager.

Windows cant be installed on a USB drive

To install win 10 on the SATA drive you have to:
- Install the drive INSIDE the laptop.
- Remove the M.2 drive or disable it on BIOS, otherwise, as already said, you will have Windows on the SATA drive and the boot manager on the M.2 drive.

Specs updated in settings/Profile.
The drive I was installing Win 10 on was on USB to SATA. Windows 10 was completely installed and working good. My problem occurred when I was cloning the external drive to the internal and the source drive was then mounter internal in 2nd HDD slot.

What is drive 0, the M.2 drive or the SATA drive or the USB drive? Where are the other drives?

When you install Win 10 on a computer with another boot able drive, it install Windows on the target drive and the boot manager on the existing boot able drive. If you remove the boot able drive, the new installation won't boot.
