… thankfully Denis told me before to turn off the Intel thing in the BIOS. I switched it back to on and saved.
Only now it won’t come back on. It keeps saying discs are non raid
Now I have the BSOD bc inaccessible boot drive. Anyone can help quick?
    Ver,

Actually, it was @Megahertz and he's probably already gone to bed.
I'm afraid that I know nothing about Raid.

I hope it gets sorted out,
    Denis

I never said to create a RAID array.
What I said is, as the IRST is enable, you cant just disable it as you MAY already have a RAID array.
My question is: Do you have a Optane drive on the M.2 slot (it is the size of a gum stick (~1"x3")? There are 2 M.2 slot. One is near the SATA ports (page 1.2, item 7)
As windows was installed as RAID you couldn't switch IRST without changing the information on Register.
Give me some time to study how to change register offline.

Were you able to update BIOS to last version?

Yes I can see that the BIOS updated

I didn’t mean to imply you said to create RAID. I think you referenced it and I put the idea in my back pocket.

I wasn’t trying to do that now. Thai error happened after I updated BIOS. It hasn’t come back on yet, but I can see/read that it a newer number in upper left corner.

Trying to get battery out now.

S**t. I got it out but it fell into power supply fan

My daughter and I were quite the comedy act but we did manage to get the battery out of the power supply unit.

    That didn’t fix it.

Internal are two ssd and one hdd.

I’m logging off for the night. Thank you

Would it be quickest if I just did another clean install today?

The Adobe programs installed rather quickly and the Avid software wouldn't reinstall anyway- for some reason it was problematic from the get go. Will need to be emails and phone calls with them to get it back on.

That will be the 100%. As you have drive 4 (H:) with a EFI partition you MUST disconnect it before you begin or you will end with windows in one drive and the boot manager on the other.
Please give me some more time. I'm still studding the MB manual. I want to make sure we set the MB properly before you reinstall Win10

I agree - before your clean install disconnect every disk except the one that you are installing Windows on.
Then make a system image as soon as you have completed the installation.
Then you can reconnect your astounding number of disks.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

    Okay thank you so much.

I did not unplug the two extra internal drives nor the external ones when I flash updated the BIOS. I just took a picture of the manual pages before I shut pc off on how to update and followed that. It probably said somewhere to disconnect all other drives - but not on the page I followed along. Live and learn.

Denis - he has so many drives because they are full of video. My husband is a videographer/editor. He works on many ongoing/recurring projects. We used to have a Acera Thunderbolt RAID Storage with his PC. Well it broke and none of the drives appear to even be formatted anymore. He lost 32TB of video. So now he just gets new external drives as he goes along.
He likes to keep footage for a while because it has saved him many times.... yada yada yada.
When they get unplugged, they come back up as different letters, and then he has to relink a ton of media and projects get messed up. Some I have assigned letters to, but I don't know if it always works. He usually is under tight deadlines and doesn't let me near his pc unless he has a problem.

Let's see if we can avoid a new clean install.
    - Enter BIOS.
    - Under EZ mode set IRST to off
    - Change from EZ mode to Advanced pressing F7
    - Go to Boot Options and set Fast Boot and CSM to Disable.
    - Save and exit.

During post keep pressing and releasing the F8 to launch the option menu. Select Safe Mode.
It will boot and install the AHCI driver. Reboot and it should start normally.

Okay I will go try right now. I unplugged the external drives. Should I unplug internal drives too?
