I gave you all the instructions on post #5 that mention not to use Rufus and use MCT.
I also instructed you to boot the Win 10 USB installation drive as UEFI and install Win 10 as UEFI - GPT.
    Please read it again.

If you decide to buy a small SSD and install the HDD on a caddy, let me know. There are some tricks to optimize the SSD + HDD
Sorry ... should have said more clearly, that is exactly what I am going to do. I was follow the instructions exactly tonight but got busy ... got to work when they call. I will go set by step tomorrow. I will not use RUFUS (I will use MCT).

    Thanks again !!!!!!

    Hey ..

Thanks so very much for all the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used the windows app to make the disk ... NOT RUFUS ...

Worked exactly the way you said it should!

I turned PTT back on and put everything back ... can't boot using legacy USB anymore (as you said it should be).

So, now the biggest issue is how long it takes to load programs.

I didn't realize how cheap SSD drives are.

I am about to post this question in another part of the forum (drives and hardware) but if you guys know the the answer please let me know ...

    I see a few different 1TB SSD drives ... PNY $50 ... Sandisk $60

Are one off these better than another? Or is there a better one in about the same price range?

Next question .... remember, I have never touched a laptop .... are these the same size as the drive in a 5567 Dell laptop?

I looked at the manual online ... it looks like you unbolt the two brackets on the side of the drive and then screw them onto the SSD ... is that right?

Thanks again so very much for the advice !!!!!!!!!

My suggestions (from what I learned the hard way)
    - Don't buy a SSD space that you won't use in the next few months. On the future, when you need more space, you would be able to buy a better and cheaper one with the money you save today. As you have a large HDD for data, 128G for Windows and programs is all you need.
    My first 120G SSD that I bought in 2013 cost me US$120 or US$ 1 /GB. Today you buy a 1T SSD for less than US$70 or US$0.07 /GB
    - Don't buy the best and also expensive SSD. A cheap SSD may last shorter but with the money you save, in the future, you will buy a much better, bigger and cheaper to replace it. In 2015 I bought a 128G Samsung Pro for US$95. It was the best and most expensive. In 2018 I bought a faster 128G BX500 for US$17.
    - There are many 128G SSDs .
This FanXiang is cheap (US$16) and fast.

The MX500 is a very good SSD, better and more expensive than its brother BX500 . Samsung 860 Pro is the best and also the most expensive

A 2.5" SSD should replace the HDD. Take the HDD out and install the SSD.
