But to get back to the subject.

    Motim,

I posted a valid & proven procedure in my post #3.
Bree posted a valid & proven procedure in his post #4.
FreeBooter*** almost certainly posted a valid & proven procedure in his post #6.
Megahertz posted a valid & proven procedure in his post #10.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

[*** FreeBooter - I'm sorry, I just don't like video instructions. They are serial comms whereas text instructions can easily be looked up and down to check how what was done earlier relates to what needs to be done next.]

Just done it again to prove the point ans show @Motim that it can easily be done. Here's the end result of the MBR upgrade I started in post #33.

    Upgrade to Windows 11

Windows 11 on MBR will erase all data on the PC.....so the files and apps will not be there.

    Pretty important knowledge.........to mention.

If you want to upgrade from an old Windows version to Windows 11, you can only install the system on a GPT disk, because Windows 11 needs to be booted by UEFI boot mode; but if you plan to clean install Windows 11, you can install it on an MBR disk.
    Hello,
After this long e-mails conversation, concidering the limitations of my computer to accept the 'noble' windows 11 inside, I have in mind to do this (make a try):
Make a full backup image of the system's partition with Macrium Reflect.
Merge that small reg file into the registry.
Mount the windows 11 iso file and start an in-place install-upgrade as the tutorial on this forum's site.
If everything goes well; normal boot, my programs and docs are still in place and working, fine.
If not, use the backup image to restore to windows 10.
After all, microsoft supports it until 2025 (so said).
    How about this ?
    All the best

    Yes, have a backup.

And the best thing to do is have a backup of your W10.
And if you also are able to get W11, also have a back there too of course.

Then you can switch between both OS and keep them fresh and updated.....you never know what kind of policies there will be in the future, there may be some restrictions about old PC's access to W11.

And I still think the best is to have GPT disks even if some hyenas think different..

By the way, my laptop ThinkPad E460 is now running both OS, W10 and W11, and W11 is in fact slightly better, faster and no error at all, it is more stabile then W10 is my impression.
And that laptop is weaker than your PC...

So do your backup, and keep it safe, and then after a while you will also have the GPT disks there..........I think.

    Motim,
I assume the 'small reg file' you are talking about is the one from post #2 that bypasses Windows 11 CPU & TPM requirements.
MS, who wrote that 'small reg file', did not claim that it bypassed other Windows 11 system requirements checks. I thought that you had said your computer failed to meet other system requirements [I think you mentioned that one non-compliance was Secure boot?].
You didn't say how you had checked your compliance. One method is to use the PC Health Check app.

I suggest you choose any one of these valid & proven procedures for updating a non-compliant computer [whatever the degree of non-compliance].

Yes, every time. It is essential to disconnect from the internet and in Windows 11 Setup change how to check for updates to 'Not right now'.
Your simple method just worked a treat. Why use a more complex method? The next issue to coax Open Shell to work.

    Steve,

There are lots of threads in ElevenForum about using OpenShell.
This is one of them - Classic Shell Returns For Windows 11 (with and_or without) ExplorerPatcher installed - ElevenForum

    Best of luck,
