I would suggest you grab a free copy of Minitool Partition Wizard.
Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Wizard Free

And If you want to merge the unallocated space with C:\ ...in Minitool just right click C:\ and choose: move/resize
Then just resize C:\ to include the unallocated space.

    For example...

Let's pretend that M:\ is unallocated and I wanted to merge it with L:\

I would just right click L:\ and choose: move/resize ...then in the window that pops up, I would just grab the "handle" on the right side, and "drag" it to the right to include the unallocated space.
Then, in the lower left click on Apply.

The small box on the left, shows the options you get when you right click a... disk.
The larger box on the right, shows the options you get when you right click a.... partition.

In disk management rt click the partition and select extend. No 3rd party programs needed for that.

Just wondering why you need such a huge C: partition.

Strongly recommended- keep personal data off C: for maintenance reasons.

With those very large disks, if you use a lot of space, 3rd party disk maging (endlessly recommended here) will be a bit of a challenge - you'll need some kind of large robust storage for your image file sets.

Unallocated is not a partition. You can't merge something with nothing. Unallocated lets you extend the partition to its left or create a partition.

You're absolutely right. Very useful for the teach purpose.
BTW, we all understand what OP was asking.

    Code:
    diskpart
    select volume c
    extend
    exit
    exit
Less time than it takes to just download a partition manager program.

Yes. I have been unable to do zero with that "Unallocated" disk space with 4 different software programs.

What got me into this situation is, doing an "Image" of my Sabrent 1Tb drive, and pasting it on my brand new, unformated, uninitiated, WD Black 2Tb ssd drive, which left half of the drive unallocated and able to do zero with it.

Good point and makes perfect sense.

Is there a way to separate the "system" and put in a partition, and separate the "data" from the "system" on the disk, and save it to a separate partition?

Will that work if the unallocated portion of the hd is not formatted?

Yes. It will only work if the space is unformatted and at the end of C: drive. It is literally 15 seconds of time to try it.
