OK fixed my VM issues - now anyway to do an UPDATE

    Hi there

Finally fixed my VMWARE issues -- seems the original ISO I downloaded wasn't good.

Now is there any way to do an UPDATE (and from what Windows release). I've tried an "Update" from Windows 8.1 enterprise ==>Windows 10 but it deletes all your apps and only saves your "personal files".

I've seen a few posts here on how people have "updated" their machines and are running Office etc. Did they do an "Update" or did they have to re-install their apps.

If they managed a proper Update can they please explain how they did it.

Appreciate in advance as I don't want to install zillions of apps each time I'm testing.

    Cheers

    This is not a VM.

No Upgrade problems, Windows 8.1 Enterprise to Windows 10 Enterprise.

    Hi there

    Thanks for the reply.

I found out belatedly that the original version I downloaded was NON enterprise ENG US version and I'm running W8.1 ENTERPRISE UK eng version. (Both 64 bit).

Re-downloaded from TechNet the ENTERPRISE UK Eng version -- seems to be working so far. Upgrade needs to be ENTERPRISE==>ENTERPRISE or Non Enterprise ==> non enterprise.

The download links weren't clear (probably my fault also for not reading CAREFULLY before downloading !!!!).

    Cheers
