I am going to do what you have done Stephanie. I have installed it 4 times so far. 3 times on Virtual machines. One 32,64 and a 64 bit Enterprise with Windows to Go. The first install I upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate and it went without a hitch on a real, older PC. I have a spare 149gb partition on this machine and with so few issues I am confident this will work as a main OS just fine. I can honestly remember M$ releasing buggy software than this in the past as retail.
Hi Indianatone I used the ISO booted from DVD and Win 10 installed perfect to a blank HDD, at each start up or restart you get the choice of OS to use :)

I'm sure this is a stupid question but was this an internal or external HDD? Is it possible to install Win 10 to an external HDD? Seems too simple so I am sure I am completely wrong.

My external HDD works. But that's because it is connected via SATA cable. USB external harddrive will not work.

Hi bru the HDD is internal WD 250GB SATA, I installed it a few days before Win 10 TP was released :)

I did it the way Stephanie did to a internal hooked SSD.

    1. Disconnected other drives except DVD player and a clean SSD.
    2. Installed DVD with W-10 ISO 6.4.9814
    3. Installed W-10 without any problems on the clean SSD and it was quick.
    4. Hooked back up other SSD's
    5. Now when booting I get a choice to boot W-7 or W-10.

Now I can go into File Explorer/Windows Explorer and see both W-7 and W-10 and tinker of course.

One thing this allowed me to do was when in W-7 I could use the Intel Tool Box and choose the SSD with W-10 installed and Optimize. The Intel Tool Box will not Optimize the SSD when I'm in W-10.

Hope this is some help to somebody.

    Hi everyone!

This is my first try at dual boot with windows 7 Home Premium & Windows 10. I followed the instructions 6. To Create Bootable UEFI USB Flash Drive for Installing Windows 10 with UEFIbut my PC wouldn't recognize & boot from it. I'm in the process of reformatting the USB using 7. To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive for Installing Windows 1uck this time. Will post back in a few. Wish me luck!

I use this, but I don`t do UEFI, always Legacy.

    Works perfectly, every time.

Thanks AddRAM. Too late. I'm in the process of burning DVD. Neither of the Rufus methods or Win 7 USB?DVD worked for USB boot. If DVD boot doesn't work I'll try your suggestion.
