Need Your Advice Re: a Botched Upgrade

Yesterday I decided to try a "Rufus" upgrade to 11. For some reason my powerbreaker turned off halfway through and when I finally managed to redo the upgrade I realised that my option to go back within 10 days had disappeared. However the windows.old folder is there.
    Well I don't like 11 anyway & here's where I need advice.
I'm aware of a way to get back to 10 but would you do that or simply forge ahead with 11?
I find 11 very unintuitive and extremely slow.

Given your circumstances with the interrupted upgrade and your dissatisfaction with Windows 11, I would restore the backup image of Windows 10 that you made before upgrading to Windows 11 and carry on from there. The interrupted upgrade probably caused some file corruption.

I'm probably no help here. But
I recently installed win 10 from a rufus usb using a iso found online of a older build, "
that had some hiccups but did work.
I didnt even bother trying migrating my windows from the HDD just as a quarantine measure to avoid
bringing the malware along with it.

Hope someone can give you some options.
I was trying to downgrade from win 10 to win 7 but that posed a lot of compatibility issues.
I opted to just stick with a older win10 build and disable updates.

Yes, to downgrade you'd need to do a clean install of 7. Back up your personal stuff to another4 drive.
I think I'm going to have to do that with 10. Fortunately one can still get 10 ftom MS.

Don't you have a drive Win 10 image?
Do you have your data backed up on another drive?
How big is your Windows .old folder?
If all Win 10 files and folders are on the Windows .old you can restore Win 10 (at least you can try).

I did try every which way and failed. The W11 was extremely slow and it simply would not open any File Explorer pages although I could see them there. So I have given up and wiped the C drive clean and installed W10 and now I'm rebuilding it. I have some backups on another drive but not as much as I would have had the other way.

By "the other way", do you mean creating a system image backup?

W11 was unresponsive when I tried to create a backup or tried to copy folders somewhere else so am working with old backups from my external drive.
