Upgrade 4gb RAM to 16gb RAM without touching BIOS

I wish to take my HP Probook 450 G1 with 4gb RAM to 16gb RAM - the max this laptop can hold. I use Windows 10 PRO 64-bit. Version 21H2 Build 19044
I have already identified the two 8gb RAM sticks (two slots) and the company has confirmed that they are compatible with the HP Probook.

That is one issue. But what I was initially thinking of doing is upgrading the BIOS. There is no issue with the current BIOS, and I have been reading all sorts of questionable stories about touching the BIOS. "What ain't broke, don't fix it" - the slogan.
    The BIOS Version/Date - Hewlett-Packard L74 V.01.29 4/29/2014

So I will upgrade the RAM only, without doing anything to the BIOS.
What are your thoughts on this?

I've done it on both Notebooks and Desktops. I have 16GB on the Desktops that support it and maximize the RAM on my Notebooks, latest have 8GB which is the max. on them. My latest Desktop from April came with 8GB but would have been additional cost, $270+ so I ordered 2 x 8GB from Crucial for $79+, works fine.

And No, the BIOS doesn't usually have to be changed, may pop up a message at boot about a change, press F2 or other key as prompted to save the change.

One change in the BIOS that usually helps in processing speed is if 2 modules are installed might want to assure that it is set for dual-channel, one module gets single-channel setting.

Updating the bios is more or less bomb proof now firms don't create new bios for fun as it costs a lot so normally worth doing

I've always kept BIOS up to date with the latest from the manufacturer. Some are even pushing BIOS updates through Windows Update.

I would upgrade the BIOS to the latest.
Download the BIOS from the HP site. Make sure it is for your model.
Disable your anti virus as HP laptops upgrades the BIOS with an executable file that can conflict with your anti virus.
