Easiest, simplest way to stop Windows 11 upgrade

I currently have Windows 10 Pro (21H2). I do not want to upgrade to Windows 11. I want to keep Windows 10 until end of service. What is the easiest, simplest way to do this?

    Thanks.

The upgrade to Windows 11 is optional. Just don't install it.

If you want to be doubly safe, make a full backup of Windows 10, with a program like Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper.
Then if you accidentally upgrade, you can just restore from a backup and undo it.

The reason I was asking is that I have read some accounts online that suggest it is not optional for everyone, and that some have had Windows 11 installed on their computers even though they did not want it - and they did not choose it.

I'm not sure whether I believe that or not.
I know my Win 10 Home still wants me to run the check for Windows 11.
It's been asking me to do that for about 9 months. LOL

But if you're at all worried about it, just make a full backup of your Windows 10 install.
    Then you're covered.

Of the three options mentioned, Group Policy Editor looks like the safest for someone who doesn't understand the registry well. Is that true?

And once I do this, (setting up updates only for 21H2), then when I want to update to 22H2, what do I do?

You can reset the target feature build..

I did use the Group Policy Editor approach and it seemed to be working fine. I have Windows 10 and had 21H2 listed in Select the Target Feature Update Version. But then I wanted to update to 22H2, so I changed 21H2 to 22H2 in Select the Target Feature Update Version. But when I go to Windows update on my computer and check for newest updates, the only options I get are still for 21H2. Why is that?

Assuming you've done it correctly, you may need to just be a little patient.

How long is it since you reset TF Update?

It was either yesterday or the day before. And I believe I did it correctly. I just re-checked it and it shows 22H2, not 21H2.

Should it be taking this long?
