Select the Target Feature Update Version under Group Policy Editor shows 22H2.
But under About (under System settings) it says that my current version is 21H2
Select the Target Feature Update Version is supposed to determine which update my Win 10 machine can accept, but instead, when I check for updates, I am only offered 21H2 updates.
I have given you one option to 'force' the upgrade. But there's no need to panic.
Another possible reason you are not offered it is if a Safeguard Hold applies- i.e. a possible incompatibility.
By the way, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my many questions! I really appreciate it.
I may try MS update assistant. But I am still puzzled why 22H2 is not offered automatically for my Win 10 machine. The reason I wanted to block Win 11 is that it was being offered in the update window and presently I don't want it. My wife has a Win 10 machine and it is much older and slower than mine, and it was not being offered Win 11, but is being offered 22H2. I don't know why my much newer, faster Win 10 machine would be incompatible with 22H2.
Using the MCT to make an ISO, then using the ISO to perform an upgrade is faster than letting Windows Update perform an upgrade. The MCT's 'Upgrade this PC now' option works much the same way as Windows Update, and at a similar speed.
How long does the 2004 upgrade take using Windows Update?
