    I have an old computer a little bit newer than the OPs one.

    Like the OP I boot from a hard drive. It takes a few minutes to boot but once booted is not too slow.

    The OP could use more RAM but the main problem is the single-core CPU.

    I had to reluctantly retire a pc with the same processor running W10 32 as it got into difficulties. Hopefully you will have better luck. My processor must have been the later +2 with the same name as it had 2 cores.
