This here is getting ridiculous. I already tried reinstalling from Media Creation Tool five times and system corruptions remain. A private chat with a specialist informed me that the only solution was the one Im pursuing and yet I am faced with more resistance than I ever saw in regards to fiixig my problem offline.
Have you ever considered that the multiple persons here might be the ones who are correct and that the "specialist" is the one who is offering bad advice?

So why don't we get to the heart of this whole issue:

Am I understanding correctly that the entire basis of this conversation, the desire to perform a clean installation, is because you have an issue with corruption that has not been corrected by multiple attempts to install over the current Windows installation?

Could you tell us what kind of corruption it is that you have? Am I correct in assuming that we are talking about Windows system file corruption? If so, have you run any commands as yet to try to correct this corruption?

And the Media Creation Tool creates the exact same USB flash drive that is in the retail box. The only difference is the MCT creates the latest released version of Windows 10 and the flash drive in the retail box may be outdated depending on how old the box is. But if you think installing an outdated version of Windows 10 will solve your problem, then download an outdated version from any number of sources that will get you the exact same flash drive that is in the retail box for free.

But you are obviously completely convinced that the flash drive in a retail box has magical properties so go ahead and spend your money to get the magic beans. Remember the password is abracadabra.

The latest version of Windows 10 (21H2) should install on any computer made since 2014. After it installs you might have to install some drivers from the manufacturers. Most computers that came with Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 i.e., sold in 2009 or later should be able to upgrade to Windows 10. The problem comes with some computers that are older than 2009. They may work with early releases of Windows 10 but not later ones. The best a person can do is locate an older release from a place like heidoc.net.

I doubt Microsoft has even manufactured physical media for Windows 10 in several years. Anything for sale now is more than likely DVD or flash drive made by some third party. Everyone that buys Windows 10 now should only be interested in buying a Product Key and make the USB media themselves.

There are a couple of fairly popular YouTube channels I frequent that recommend web sites that sell Windows 10 Pro Product Keys for about $20 or less. Even these YouTube channels can't verify where the keys from. All they know is these keys have working fine for several years now with no problems.

A person has these choices for buying Windows 10 Pro today:
    1. Buy from a company that is an official distributor for Microsoft and pay about $200, or
    2. Buy from a company of unknown credibility and pay what they ask which might be anywhere $10 to $200
    3. Buy from a company that has been recommended by someone you trust and probably pay the going $20 or less

In any case if you buy from an unofficial seller you are always taking a risk. As long as the seller is legitimate they should be willing to give a refund or a replacement key if the key they sell doesn't work.

I have tried the media creation tool 3 times, installing from the internal recovery package and also reinstalling through windows updates and no matter what I have tried the system errors and corruptions were not removed and in the latest reinstall even more errors occurred. If selecting Remove Everything truly worked then the corruptions would be removed, obviously though everything isnt being removed and freshly reinstalled through all three methods offered. So now, I am simply intrrested in fully wiping the drive of all of the software and making it as empty as can be before attempting a new installation. I completely agree with what youre saying that it seems dumb to have to go out of my way but all the methods youve already suggested havent fixed a thing.

You could certainly do a complete clean install, if you so wish, but could we possibly step back a second?

We are 55 posts into this thread, yet the actual problem that you are trying to resolve has NEVER been defined. I know that you say that you are seeing corruption, but that's pretty vague. How do you know that there's corruption? Are you getting any error messages? If so, please provide a sample of the error(s), not in general terms, but a PRECISE word for word copy of the error.

And what is stopping you from doing that?

    Hi folks
    You've all done your bit.

If people don't take advice -- especially if it's similar advice from well known members on the Forum -- not by some stupid one off poster on Reddit or similar then you've all got better things to do.

When it comes to money -- especially in these times -- and when it can be saved legitimately -- I'm 100% all ears even though I'm not likely to be in desperate states as many will be later this winter when those enormous energy bills kick in -- at least here energy is insulated from global prices (100% renewable here - thermal and hydro electric).

All I can say to the OP -- if you want to put money in Ms's account rather than in yours --thanks for increasing their profit and the value of my Stock and options holdings in MSFT. !!!

    Cheers

And what is really crazy about it is that it is Micosoft themselves that offer the product for free! You can get it directly from Microsoft for free, or you can pay a shady retailer anywhere from $20 to $200 for the exact same thing and just have to hope it is really legitimate. It makes no sense to me.

installing from the internal recovery package and also reinstalling through windows updates...If selecting Remove Everything
Have you tried creating a bootable usb.

Boot from the usb and do a clean install using windows setup. Dont try and do it from within windows.

    Clean Install Windows 10
