Never thought to ask you Cliff, when you use MiniTool to change your partitions, IF you do, This can ONLY be done by using MiniTool from your DVD, in others words, put in your minitool iso, which I hope you burned to a dvd, then put dvd in, and reboot. You can only make changes to your C-Drive and system reserved partitions from a boot disk. (like MiniTool)

Of course Always backup 1st....before playing....:)
Mike, Yes, I did get a download of the MiniTool Bootable 9.1 and also save it on CD as a bootable tool to use here.
Thanks for that idea. .and thanks for all your help and comments about my HDD.

Busy day here today.... more later... cliff

Good job, fredc. I'm goning to guess you set this up MBR as opposed to GPT. With GPT, you may well have had the 100MB partition you were expecting PLUS a separate 400MB or so recovery partition.
Yes, MBR , i really don't have a clue what i'm doing but it sounds like it worked out OK .

Well could have actually done it with MBR as well. Mine originally was 100mb reserved, 450mg recovery, and the rest Primary drive. I deleted the 450, then added it to my Primary....no problem.

    thanks for all the help.

    Cliff

I have been messing with minitool a bit today, and just trying to learn some about partitions..

The minitool 9.1 appears to be a great program.

Here is what my disk 1 (drive c) and a usb attached 1tb toshiba drive says now.

as you can see my Toshiba is now GPT.....

I am still reading and learning... thanks

OK, and received,, and I did all that. .. and all is fine..

The Graphic below shows my current Drive C (Windows 10) and I will be using Macrium to image to my USB Toshiba drive.
I have made a bootable Macrium CD, and it boots OK - so I will be doing that soon.
