As you have a brand new SSD, the best option is a clean install.
Once you have the Win 8 updated to win 10, check Disk manager to see if you have all drivers (no yellow alerts) and save all the drivers using Dism
Backup and Restore Device Drivers in Windows 10
Then do a clean install and use the saved drivers to update the fresh Win 10

In retrospect, I believe I would have been better off restoring the ssd to the factory shipped condition (totally blank) before attempting the clone. After the first attempt, the ssd was converted to an MBR disk that already had partitions and that may have somehow affected the integrity of the clone.
I had I glitch like That with Macrium 8, I tried to restore an image with 3 partition on a drive already having 4 partitions. Reflect warned that the content of the disk was going to be erased...

But somehow I ended With a drive having 7 partitions on it, Reflect had inserted the restored partitions in between those already there.

Had to Clean the disk and redo the restoration. In Minitool the disk appeared with 2 efi, 2 msr, 2 data, 1 recovery.
