Well, the one system that said it was Win 11 capable did update to 20H2 19042.1586 so there was no typo.
Well, as the table above shows, 20H2 reaches end of life on May 10 this year. If you got to Settings > Update & Security and click 'check for updates' then you should be offered the optional feature update to 21H2.

For any 2004, 20H2 or 21H1 system this is not a major upgrade (unlike upgrading your 1909 system). All versions from 2004 up share a common set of system files. Provided they are fully up to date with the latest cumulative update then they already contain the 21H2 features, but in a dormant state. These features are turned on by installing a small (165k) Enablement Package, which installs quickly like a cumulative update.

If you haven't been offered 21H2 by the end of May, then you could download and install the Enablement Package yourself.

After 2+HOURS my first 1909 system did an update of Windows AND Office 2016. It has been 2 1/2 YEARS!, It now wants to know if I want an optional update preview. I did not do this. I believe it is called KB5011831.

It also wanted me to setup EDGE, but I did not let it do it. I am surprised that, so far, all seems OK!

That optional update is a preview of the non-security fixes that will be in the next Patch Tuesday update on 10th May. I generally don't bother installing these optional previews.

i dont understand, i thought you were a great help Matthew but it just didnt work.

i tried everything you suggested and was grateful, i also tried other options from various other posts/threads to no avail as well.

as i said i'm not sure if it was my inexperience, only been playing with computers for over 20 yrs now, or there is an issue with my machine, drivers etc or whatnot, i'm certainly no guru and even to do a clean install from ISO is daunting to me.

the only reason i gave up on it was because every time i tried something it would scramble my computer and had to do a full factory reset afterwards, done about 6 of them so far and just couldn't be bothered going through it all again, not your fault.

i posted that link on the chance someone else could make a recommendation. NOT to disparage your good self.
