    New Toy

    "I'm Back!"
Well, I did use Apple for a few months, but they have their own problems. I found a new computer that has Windows 11 Pro installed. It is a BMAX M-3 Plus mini. It came with a 256 GB M2 SATA 2242 SSD Card for the main drive. It had 8GB DDR4 2666 Mhz RAM. I added an internal one terabyte HD and another 8GB RAM for 16 GB. The Jasper Lake N5095 Processor (4Core @ 2.9Ghz) is fast.
So far, the only problem I can see is there is no way to access the BIOS. They allow you to restart holding down the Shift button to get to a brief menu to reinstall Windows 11 to the manufacturer specifications or got back to startup. I am trying to communicate with the company via E-mail, it is difficult.

Run the following from Command Prompt:

    Shutdown /R /FW /T 00

It will reboot your new toy. See whether you can access the UEFI settings.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>Shutdown /R /FW /T 00
The system could not find the environment option that was entered.(203)

With this error it did not reboot, I did it manually and it entered BIOS. However, there is no option in it to use a Thumb Drive for bootup.

    Thanks!

Apparently you need to press the Del key at boot up. See this video at 2:40 in....

Sorry, tried that and all the function keys and Escape, none worked. The above method did work, but was not satisfying, see previous replies.

Did you shut down, then start up again? If so, then you're doing a warm start up, if fast start up is enabled in Windows.

On some machines the keys to enter the bios are only active when you do a full start up from cold.To ensure you are performing a cold start, use Restart rather than Shut down. A Restart is always a full start up from cold.

    Using Restart, not shutdown.

As I mentioned in my thanks to @Matthew Wai, using Power Shell instead of the Command Line his " Shutdown /R /FW /T 00 " works as he said it would.

Run the following from Command Prompt. See whether it will work.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Shutdown.exe /R /FW /T 00

The former command does work on Power Shell, thanks again. The only thing is there is no option in my BIOS to use a Thumb drive with USB. This is solved. I informed the manufacturer and have not heard back from them; I think they are in China or Hong Kong.

What is the manufacturer of your new toy? If you don't know, run the following from PowerShell:

    (wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version,serialnumber)
