Hangup When Updating: Help Please. Not too sharp anymore Sr. Citizen

Hi,

Boy, can I please use some help.

Tried to update to later revisions for W10 on my several year old HP Desktop..
Big mistake.

First it apparently did a ZIOS update via HP.
Didn't ask for permission first.

Now, all I can get is an (error) msg. that says:
Getting Windows Ready
Don't shut off your computer.

It stays that way, with the rotating balls, forever.

Re booting, and it just goes into this mode again.

What should I do, please ?

Is there a way to re-boot, and by holding down some key, it will
bypass all of this, and start normally ?

Or,...?

On your "My computer" it only mention W7. Did you upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10?

There are many ways to upgrade Win 10. Please describe witch one you use.

It is very difficult to us to give a diagnostic on what is happening.
For now I would let it with the rotating balls overnight.

Do you have your data backed up?
