    19042-43-44 installer incompatibility

    Hello.

    I am clean installing w10 on a not-so-old laptop:

    Model: HP Laptop 15-bw068ns
    Mainboard: HP 8330
CPU: AMD K15 (Stoney Ridge, 2C/2T)
Chipset: AMD K15 / Carrizo FCH
    Memory: 8GB DDR4 Single Channel
    BIOS: Insyde F.21 (11/17/2017)

I don't know why but installers for 19042, 19043 and 19044 fail (system reboots automatically, after "loading files").

I guess it can be a BIOS issue but I am installing 19041 right now. I will be trying an in-place upgrade later.

    Hi.

What is the full model number of this unit? I can't seem to find it.
Have you tried creating a Recovery USB or CD-R at HP's website?

The model of this pc seems to be HP Laptop 15-bw0xx.

There is no way of installing anything beyond 18363.592

I have installed HP Support Assistant to check all drivers are up to date. Also it seems there are no BIOS updates.

I am always getting an 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 error, that is something about "error in SAFE_OS with error during boot operation"

PS - I haven't created a Recovery CD. How do you do that? downloading it from HP?

I have run out of ideas. I have even FORCE INJECTED an installed partition using Macrium Reflect and it does exactly the same as installation (reboots or screen goes crazy). Windows Update is offering 20H1 but it doesn't work either.

Maybe there is a graphics card support issue which could be causing the reboot.
Try and see if you can unload and reload the UEFI database files in the bios and try again.

I have been trying to access BIOS advanced menu for Insyde BIOS F.21 with all three methods available. None of them seem to work. It seems HP has locked that menu.

Having a look at your laptop on tinternet right now

    - - - Updated - - -

    Hello again

Does the operating system function right now?

Ive been having a look and found a couple of updates which would put you on build 18363.2094. A servicing stack update and a cumulative update which may be needed before you can go any further. Maybe just maybe this will get you where you need to be. Take a look bud. These are for version 1909

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...px?q=KB5004748

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...px?q=KB5010345

I'll keep searching and see if we can manually go from there

Bios looks like it was updated in January 2020, version F.52 Rev.A
Also graphics driver updated Feb 13, 2020. Lots of other updates which are interesting.

    https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers...model/21085823

Click the 'All Drivers' drop down menu and you should see all the drivers for all areas of your machine.

    See what you think

I am right now at 18363.1566 - It seems it's impossible to go beyond w10 1909. I have even tried w11. All fail with same symptoms.

Trying suggested updates now. Thank you very much.
