    extending partition, dynamic disk warning

I wanted to add 50g from some unallocated space to my primary data drive, G, but am getting the warning about converting to a dynamic disk, from posts I've checked its not clear what the dangers are, for example from tenforums, "It is not recommended to convert the disk to a dynamic disk unless you are really sure you want to do this" so hoping to get better info here.

I run windows(C:) off a ssd, disk1, so the hd here, disk0, is mostly storage, the f partition has the original windows install that I ported to the ssd, so I keep that for an emergency backup.

the windows help indicates that when extending, the supply unallocated space should be after the partition being extended, so thats why I get the dynamic disk message?

can somebody explain what the real danger if any there is?
is there a way to move the unallocated partition after my G partition? would that cancel the dynamic disk warning?

there seems to be no warnings available if using the command prompt or powershell to extend, using those options is somehow different than using the diskmgt snapin?

The trick is to resize the G:\ partition. Make it bigger to the left, by your 50GB.

The easiest way to do that is with a free partitioning tool like Minitool Partition Wizard.
Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Wizard Free

Just install the program, run it, and right click the G: partition and choose: resize.
Then grab the handle on the left side of G: and drag the handle to the left, by however much you want to add to G:.
If you want to add 50GB to G:\, drag the handle to the left till you see the resize amount change to 50GB.

If you then want to add the other 50GB to F:, just right click F: and choose: resize.
This time you will grab the handle on the right side of F:\ and drag it to the right, to add the other 50GB.

When you right click a partition and choose: move/resize, this window will pop up.
    The "handles" look like this...

You can make partitions bigger or smaller using these handles.

Yes, you can`t use windows Disk Management to add space to the left of G, you have to use Partition Wizard as Mike has suggested, it`s so simple.
Using windows Disk Management is one of the hardest ways to work with partitions.
Master Partition Wizard and you will love it.

Windows Disk Management is very limited. A problem is that it may not show all partitions on the drive.
To expand the unallocated space to the G: partition you should use Minitool or AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard

There was only one disk seen in the disk management image.
How much unallocated space do you want to add to the G: partition?
How much unallocated space is there that is seen / not seen to the right of G:?

Please post a new image of disk management:
    a) widen these columns: Volume and Status > make sure that no characters are cut off
    b) widen these rows : Disk 0, disk 1, disk 2, etc > make sure that no characters are cut off
How to Post a Screenshot of Disk Management

    success

partition magic worked fine as suggested, I forgot how great their app runs, in fact I used it to port my HD win10 to my SSD but that was 3 years ago and I was thinking of it as "EaseUS" for porting the OS, not partition master with those capabilities

Zbook, why did you want the info on all the drives? isn't changing partition size segregated and contained to the disk in question?

I'm amazed that operations like this are not supported better by MS? why would they leave it to 3rd parties? is it not in their best interest to provide win10 support as good as possible to make happy customers?

In TF we see computers with multiple drives and during updates / upgrades Windows may install partitions on more than one disk. The end user at some time may want to remove or replace a disk and not realize that all active or enabled partitions were not on the same disk drive.

In the above image the recovery partition is on disk 0 and the and Windows is on disk 1.
Normally all of these are on the same disk.

Running the scripts can provide information about:
    a) whether there are any integrity violations and potentially fix them
    b) whether there is corruption of the component store and potentially fix it
    c) whether there is corruption of the drive file system and potentially fix it
    d) whether the recovery partition is enabled or disabled
    etc.

The computer will function without a working recovery partition.

A bootable Windows 10 iso can be used as needed for Windows RE.

If your planning to create a recovery partition it's best to temporarily remove disk 0 or remove cables so that the only attached drive is the applicable disk.

If you want to create a new recovery partition on disk 1 it may be able to be created with some command prompt commands or with an in place upgrade repair.
