You'll be able to convert to dynamic from a GPT install, only after its installed first. But if you have any problems and have to reinstall, the dynamic disk will have to be wiped clean back to a basic partition as it just wont install as it is. Thats the danger i think.

Is it not in their best interest to provide win10 support as good as possible to make happy customers?

I'm amazed that operations like this are not supported better by MS? why would they leave it to 3rd parties? is it not in their best interest to provide win10 support as good as possible to make happy customers?
If only it were that simple.

Technically there is no reason why Microsoft could not provide with Windows software like Disk Manager that would rival the very best commercial software. They certainly have the knowledge, expertise, and money to do so. But the problem is that would leave the commercial products without a market. Microsoft would be seen as having an unfair advantage and that would put Microsoft in a very difficult legal position. That has cost Microsoft a great deal of money in the past. It was for this reason that Microsoft was forced, as a requirement to sell Windows in the European Union, a special N version of Windows that does not include Media Player and associated software. The software is available as a free download.

Microsoft has chosen to concentrate on the OS and mostly leave software to third party suppliers. This has served them well in the past. Windows popularity with third party developers is largely responsible for Microsoft's success. Windows does include basic software for a variety of purposes that is good enough for most users but does not rival commercial versions. If you need something better there are many free and commercial products.
