Win11 upgrade and decision after 10 days to go back home

    Good evening Brain Trust.

I was going along fine with my HP Pavilion and my Win10 until I decided to upgrade to Win11.Don't ask why because at my age, I'll never live through all the variations and Fox-Trots.
My winver shows win 11 pro. 21h2 osbuilld 22000 469

Although my Pavillion indicated that I could not upgrade, I tried and the Gods were kind (Unkind) to me. They told me it upgraded and gave me new numbers... As time went on, I began to realize that many 11 features never appeared. I spent too much time fooling around and went to the assistant to downgrade back to win10, and it instantly, before running one file, congratulated me on having Win10. Huh?
As I have said, I'm really only interested in restoring to Win10 pro. Yes, I have a system image backup. Do I need any other backups before you guys begin the surgery?

Never seen a roll back that didn't have issues.
My suggestion is to boot from the Image program rescue disk and restore the backup image.
If the image isn't recent, you may loose some data. In this case, backup your data before restoring the backup image.

If you open a command prompt now and run "winver", what does it show? windows 10 or 11? And what version?

I'm confused if you ever upgraded to W11 or not.

So what do you have now and how many days ago did you "downgrade" to W11?

I was able to up(down)grade about 2-3 weeks ago.
I foolishly waited too long until I now find out `that all my files were intact for that period and MS thought they were taking up too much space.

You mentioned you had a backup. Is the backup of Windows 10?

You know how to hurt a guy.
I had numerous backups on my Toshiba ext HDD. Last week, after 3 years, it decided to commit suicide. Completely dead. If that had survived, I wouldn't be here asking questions.
I suppose I can dig around and make the best of nothing. Maybe just another lesson, but considering how many I've had and how little I've learned...
I admire those with the smarts willing to offer their time and knowledge in this forum. I thank you all.

Of course, should anyone see that bright light and can find any solution, I'll have that nice bottle of wine waiting.

    thanks to all

    Steve...

"I'm confused if you ever upgraded to W11 or not."

At the end of yourcomments, you concluded with this , one that I didn't think about.
If that's possible, what would be the best way to go forth. Any tricks left in your bag?
Thinking back, although the docs at W11 I don't see lots of the new features and colors I see in W11 pictorials
