    @Bree @steve108 ...and it HAS! Downgrade worked perfectly to Win10 Home and it's now activated...thanks for the help ladies and gents! :)

    AFAIK.. downgrades are activated even without a digital licence for the downgraded edition.

    Edit: Oops I see there was no Pro digital licence to downgrade... so it obviously needed a Home digital licence.

    It was Win7 Pro on another machine that I upgraded ON that machine to Win10 Pro, then cloned it to the second laptop, downgraded to Win10 Home and it auto-activated with the embedded Win8 key on that second replacement laptop then :)
