New ssd harddrive for OS, need help with OS installation
I need to replace my current SSD HD with a new one and I need help.
I have a 256 GB SSD SATA 600 for my OS right now, I bought a new 1 TB SSD SATA 600 replacement. The Windows 10 Installation I have right now was originally installed by the store where I bought the system.
The last time I did an installation of Windows was Windows 7 and it was years ago, so I’m rusty.
I made an USB-stick Windows 10 boot device. I haven't installed the new HD yet because I can't figure out how to set my bootdevice to USB.
My current Windows 10 system was installed with UEFI boot, this is very different from what I was used to with the regular BIOS.
I tried a lot of different things.
I cant boot into my BIOS/UEFI boot menu with any of the usual Keys: ESC, DELETE, DEL, F1, F2, F11, F12 none of these work.
When I restart my system While holding down the SHIFT key I do get a menu with boot options, I tried “UEFI Firmware settings”. But it just reboots into Windows.
Maybe I’m just going about this the wrong way, like I said i’m rusty.
Can anyone help?
