New ssd harddrive for OS, need help with OS installation

I need to replace my current SSD HD with a new one and I need help.
I have a 256 GB SSD SATA 600 for my OS right now, I bought a new 1 TB SSD SATA 600 replacement. The Windows 10 Installation I have right now was originally installed by the store where I bought the system.

The last time I did an installation of Windows was Windows 7 and it was years ago, so I’m rusty.

I made an USB-stick Windows 10 boot device. I haven't installed the new HD yet because I can't figure out how to set my bootdevice to USB.

My current Windows 10 system was installed with UEFI boot, this is very different from what I was used to with the regular BIOS.

I tried a lot of different things.

I cant boot into my BIOS/UEFI boot menu with any of the usual Keys: ESC, DELETE, DEL, F1, F2, F11, F12 none of these work.

When I restart my system While holding down the SHIFT key I do get a menu with boot options, I tried “UEFI Firmware settings”. But it just reboots into Windows.

Maybe I’m just going about this the wrong way, like I said i’m rusty.

    Can anyone help?

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

The keys to press to get into the BIOS or the one-time boot menu varies from one OEM to another. Please fill in the make and model of your PC in your system specs, then we should be able to help. Fill them in here: https://www.tenforums.com/profile.php?do=extra

Providing the present windows installation is working Ok and the only reason for the change to the 1TB drive is to increase capacity - rather than becuase of problems with the system - probably the easiest way is to image the 256GB using Macrium Reflect free to another drive connected USB
Then take out the 256GB SSD replace it with the ITB - restore the image created to the 1TB drive using Macrium
and then use the spare free capacity to increase the size of the C partition

    As here
Macrium Software | Reflect Free Edition
    Macrium 8 free

    and the user guide
Macrium Reflect User Guide - Knowledgebase 8.0 - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase

you may try using clone, but it is not always successful whereas Image and restore is

see page 144 on the full guide
    https://updates.macrium.com/reflect/...user_guide.pdf

Connect the 1TB internally clone the 256 to the 1TB.
Take out the 256 and install the 1TB where the 256 was.
DO NOT boot windows with both the 256 and the 1TB installed.

    ==============
Re the UEFI firmware settings you should be abled to get there from within 10 as here
Boot to UEFI Firmware Settings from inside Windows 10

from sign in screen - when after selecting troubleshoot, advanced options you should see the image shown at 5 and 6

That is indeed shift key and restart, ON SIGN IN SCREEN, but is there any chance you were trying that shift and restart in the wrong place

See System Information in Windows 10 - Check that it shows BIOS Mode: UEFI

If yes, open an admin command prompt or powershell after closing all apps and run "shutdown /r /fw" to see if that boots you into UEFI as it should if everything is working correctly.

gigabyte tap F12 as soon as you hear the beep. Might need to tap a couple of times till you get used to it. Works on my gigabyte mobos.

Thank you @NPAA for filling in your specs.

SIW2 is correct. F12 should work on your motherboard too, according to the screenshot under '2-1 Startup Screen' from your motherboard's manual.

If still unable to get into UEFI, try running "powercfg /h off" to disable hibernation/fast startup, then try "shutdown /r /fw" again.

Also you might need to do Fn + F12 if your keyboard is set up to do special functions for F12 by default. For example, on my laptop keyboard, F12 is increase brightness by default. To get the real F12, I need to press Fn + F12.

Please post a full window of Disk Manager image. Don't forget to expand the columns so we can read them.
How to Post a Screenshot of Disk Management

How did you made an USB-stick Windows 10 boot device? Using MCT, Rufus...?

Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.

As you have a new MB, you should install as UEFI-GPT
Detach any other drives (SATA or Power cable) from the MB.

During POST, press F12 to launch the boot menu. You will see two options for the USB drive. USB UEFI (Name) and USB (Name). Select USB UEFI (Name).
Go to install and delete ALL partitions on the SSD till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
If you don't want to use MS account, don't enable updates or connect to the internet during installation.
