In-place upgrade/repair on dual boot system?
I have successfully done this on a single boot system. Will it also work on a Windows/Linux dual boot system? I have Win 10 Pro with Linux Mint side-by-side.
Win 10 Pro 19044.1387

It should, although you should make a CLONE of the disk whole disk first, just in case.
Thanks. I will try. Firstly though, what is the difference between a clone of the whole disk and a Macrium Reflect full disk image, or are they the same?
Thank you. Full image backup running now.
As I remember when I did this with a dual boot with Linux on an MBR BIOS the dual boot menu was overwritten so as long as you remember how to recreate it you’ll be OK.
Failed I'm afraid. In addition Windows wouldn't boot but Grub was normal. I used my copy of EasyRE to reset the Windows bootloader which then knocked out Grub. I restored Grub by starting a live Linux Mint session from USB, fired up Timeshift and restored the backup I made just before I began the Windows repair/upgrade. All is back to normal now.
Can anyone explain from the error box above why the Windows upgrade/repair failed and what I might try to do it properly?
Thanks Steve. I'll work on this tomorrow and try again. Much appreciated.
You're welcome and here's some specific help related to the exact screenshot you posted (big help doing that) :
Installation failed in SAFE_OS phase during BOOT operation
