I plan on redoing my PC computer from the ground up. This is something I do every year, but last year I didn't do it. Therefore, this is a two part question:
#1: Should I do my BIOS drivers first or do my Windows install first then my BIOS drivers?
#2: There is a tutorial around here about how to use partkie or something like that to reformat the HD. Does this program work on a M.2 NMVE drive as well?

1. Flash the BIOS first.
2. Unhook all other drives and the internet before you start the Windows install.
3. Just use the install media to delete everything on the SSD, then install Windows.
4. Once the install is complete, install the motherboard drivers (chipset driver first), then install the vid card driver.
5. Rehook the internet and do any Windows updates.
6. Rehook the other drives.
If you plan to keep the HD then run multiple drive tests.
A manual format of the drive should not be required unless there were drive problems.
Consider replacing the HD with a SSD for performance.
Backup both important files and bookmarks.
Either Windows 10 or 11 can be clean installed as there is no upgrade assistant check for supported / unsupported parameters.
Now this morning I remember what the tutorial is on as it's called diskpart. Does diskpart work on a M.2 NMVE drive, which is not a SSD or HD.
M.2 NVMe certainly is an SSD and yes diskpart works on it like any other drives.
If you have a UEFI BIOS you can install as UEFI-GPT or Legacy-MBR.
To Install as UEFI-GPT you MUST boot the Win10 installation drive as UEFI
To Install as Legacy-MBR. you MUST boot the Win10 installation drive as Legacy
The ones with the "UEFI" prefix refer to "UEFI".
