How to Install Windows 10 on Primary Drive using USB

    Hello Forum.

I'm currently doing a new PC build. I'll be installing 2 SSD NMVE, one for my Software and the other to store project files, and a HDD for backup files of my projects.

So when I insert the USB to boot windows to be installed, how can I be certain it'll install on my primary SSD where I need the software to be installed, and it doesn't randomly install it on the other SSD or HDD, where the project files will be located.

I saw on YT someone suggesting to uninstall all the SSD and HDD, so windows will only have one option to find and install it on. And once windows is installed then reconnect the other SSD and HDD, but I want to avoid this.

    So what the best method?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, you need to disconnect all the other drives.
That IS the best way to install Windows.

You should unhook the internet as well.

Then Install Windows. Once you get to the desktop, install the motherboard drivers (chipset driver first).
Then install the vid card driver.

Then you can hook up the internet, and do your Windows Updates.
Then shut the computer OFF, and hook up the other drives.

You really only have two options.
    1. Do it the way I just outlined.
    2. Or spend the next three months figuring out why things aren't working properly. ^^

OK Ghot, thanks for your reply, point taken of course, I don't need the drama as you said. I'll follow your method.

    Kind regards.

I've never disconnected other drives and it always installs where I tell it to install. I've got 3 M.2 drives in my desktop and dual drive laptops. I'm not about to go to the trouble of disconnecting drives, nor have I had any issues.
