Windows 10 reinstall via media recovery drive stuck at 0%

Hey I've now am performing a complete wipe of windows 10. I expect the media tool to use the files on the drive to wipe the computer. However, it's been stuck on 0% installing for the last hour and I'm not sure if its actually going to work. the pc didnt freeze, the icon is still going in circles and the pc hard drive is still flashing. I dont know how long reinstalled take but usually not this long. I reinstalled windows during in-windows, not during boot. I wonder if booting it up and then performing a reinstall will fix the issue.

Presumably there's a reason you're reinstalling. For example, if you started to find strange things happening, not working, crashes, or apparent corruption, you should consider checking your drives as a matter of routine.

: 5 Toshiba 4 TB Western Digital 4 TB Seagate Freeagent 2 TB Unknown Brand 4 TB Buffalo Tera station 32 TB

    You have a considerable number.

Presumably your PC is not bootable, so you would have to boot it from a live boot disk and use a basic SMART check e.g. with Crystal Diskinfo (free) - often available on such live boot disks.

If you do indeed have a disk problem, you might wish to save yourself the time installing Win 10.

    Just a thought...

Nah it's not the drives. It's because, as mentioned on another forum, the recovery drive isnt operational, and there was a bind in a port that I couldnt fix but online said the only way to fix it was reinstalling windows. Anyway I am going that right now and I realized my key us no longer valid. This pc is custom built, and the builder probably doesn't know the key anymore for windows 10 pro

If Windows 10 was activated before...it will be again, after the clean install.

When it asks for a product key, during install, just answer: I don't have one.

Question about unlicensed windows: what is the limitations? Also I can use my blu ray drive to get the wireless network to connect to the internet. Is that a limitation of windows?

    - - - Updated - - -

Yeah its unregistered either because 1) it didnt come with a product code initially or the recovery couldby detect it 2) its offline

On a good computer like yours, you should have a Small SSD (120 or 256G) for Windows and programs.
You can find authentic Win 10 license for under US$50
