I'm trying to be a bit more proactive with MS in my old age. In short, I will not be forced into a passwordless login system either incrementally, through a slow boil, or by having it shoved down my noncompliant throat while being told how much I’m enjoying and benefiting from the experience. just wanted to add a smiley to soften the tone if that's possible.
The stickey to this forum speaks volumes as to how much we’ve given up and how much we continue down that road. Yes, I fully realize there are other options out there – two by my count. I should have been far more proactive decades ago when it came to computers and software, but alas time travel is still science fiction.
I actually remember a time when I looked forward to getting updates. Nowadays I do everything I can to avoid them without ever knowing or wanting to know what they contain. As such, I think there is one positive feature to Microsoft’s ever-present conditioning. It’s just not the outcome they intended to produce, at least with me.
And given Megahertz's comment, I may already be too late.

Thanks for the confirmation, MaloK!
21H2 is not officially out - that link is just people installing the Insider Enablement KB to get some unofficial 21H2 ahead of the official release.
No official 21H2 yet:

I use Windows Automatic Update Manager myself.

Hide or Show Windows Updates in Windows 10 use this to hide the 21H1 Enablement KB. I'm still using 2004 and will update when I no longer get CUs.
Microsoft may still have a way to force update us.
well steve108, 21H2 is sort of officially out now - I just downloaded the recently released official 21H2 ISOs from MS (like Win10_21H2_English_x64.iso mentioned from this blog) and the ISO contains build 19044.1288 as I checked the contents of the ISO myself.
but 21H2 will eventually show up on WU later today for some systems
Yep, thanks for the update. The official release version of 21H2 ISO popped out of the Microsoft oven today, but no official enablement KB yet when I check Windows Updates.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...se-information still doesn't show 21H2 just yet.
The ISO version is 19044.1379 for the 11/16 ISO.
Showed up for me yesterday. Will wait a while to install it. It has very few new Features.
Windows 10 21H2 is released, here are the new features (bleepingcomputer.com)
The best news is that W10 is going to be annual update from now on
