Your device supports efi. The reason you are having to do the conversion is because your device only supports efi.

Yes, quick lookup of EFI and what you say makes sense.
If that works, You rock!
Also, if this works, the original poster was probably having the same problem trying to use an older drive in a system with new bios.
The original poster wasnt very clear, but it seems most likely he was trying to install an os from booted media. That is an entirely different issue and requires loading irst drivers so the installation media can see the disks..

Don't be angry with me, but when @SIW2 got on here, I got off here.
Take care.
@Tekkie Boy, I'm not mad at anybody. I really appreciate all the help!
I ran mbr2gpt and am now having a different problem.
@SIW2
mbr2gpt ran successfully.
I restarted the computer, went into BIOS, changed boot order as below, then restarted computer again.
The system tried to boot from my old SSD, but failed.
The error is below (INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE).
What do I need to do to the SSD out of my old computer so the installed OS (Windows 10 Pro) will boot on this new computer?
BIOS now shows my SSD as boot option -- top of list (yea, first step).
Boo, Windows will not boot from my SSD.
This is how Disk Management showed my disk BEFORE mbr2gpt conversion (Disk 1).

Can you run the following command in a command prompt as administrator:
dism /image:G:\ /get-drivers /format:table > "%userprofile%\desktop\drivers.txt"
That creates the txt file with the name drivers.txt on your desktop.
Please attach the file here please.
@RandomUser2021
Let us try the following:
Open the command prompt as administrator again and then run the following command:
dism /image:G:\ /remove-driver /driver:oem20.inf
You should see:
Removing 1 of 1 - oem20.inf: The driver package was successfully removed.
The operation completed successfully.
As next download this package:
WeTransfer - Send Large Files & Share Photos Online - Up to 2GB Free
and unzip it on your desktop and not anywhere else.
Open the command prompt as administrator again and run this command:
dism /image:G:\ /Add-Driver /Driver:"%userprofile%\Desktop\Intel" /recurse
12 drivers should be installed in the system.
Then close the command prompt and restart the pc and try to boot from your old system.
It is up to you whether you change the boot order or select the boot medium with F12 or whatever.
Can you then boot the system or does it fail again?

It will be a few hours before I can get to this.
I’m reluctant to download unknown programs from the internet.
Can you upload the file to a Dropbox location?
Thanks

Are you sending me different drivers for the disk for the boot process?
These are the drivers files for the hard drives controller of your new computer.
I have no Dropbox and use always Wetransfer.com to share files.
There are only drivers, scan the package.
If you do not trust me we just let it.
Your computer, your decision.
