Had to switch boot drives and how to get programs to run from old driv

My C: drive was not running well as a boot drive and I swapped boot drives
so now it is D: Drive
both drives are new to windows 10 and do not have programs from it installed.
is there a way to get access to either drive to install programs.
    I have graphics
and antivirus software that I would like to get to run at least once if possible.

Thanks for your reading my post.

Why can't you just run the setup routine for whatever it is you want to install like you normally would?

    You need the program installers.

Is the drive you swapped in working ok ?

What is wrong with your C drive ?

Is it going bad or does it just need a clean install of W10 ?

Basic steps (ask if you need more detail)
You will need an extra external portable USB drive (not a flash drive stick)
Image the "old" drive with Macrium Reflect (freeware) - save to the external USB drive
Swap the "old" < > "new" drives over
Boot from a Macrium boot USB flash drive
Connect the USB with the image of the old drive
Restore the image to the "new" drive
Wipe the old drive so the computer is not confused with2 OSs

A note about progams: Windows-based programs have to be installed in a folder, not just copied, so as to get the Start menu icons, support files copied to the proper places such as in Windows itself and Registry entries made so Windows knows how to run them. The main reason DOS-based programs had an install routine was because their files came compressed on the floppy disks that had to be decompressed into a directory on the HDD.

two months ago I was writing about my hdd going down, I was hoping to replace it with a new disk, but that failed.
so I did a new install of a rather old Hdd and then my now D drive does not load windows 10 has old programs, that I would at least want the codes to take to other computers and install them there.
It would be nice to use all those programs on both drives, on the old machine too. This is basically a scrapped machine now which I may just use to play videos, but I was hoping to get access to the programs for a short time frame.

both disks were C drives with software attached, but with a new win 10 clean install they cannot run the older programs.
