    Installing/Running Windows 10 on a Surface Hub v1

    Hello!
I've been running Windows 8.1 on my Surface Hub v1 for a while and would like to upgrade to Windows 10, unfortunately every attempt at getting that to work has failed (upgrade or fresh install). It doesn't even recognize the OS to boot from it, but it does with Windows 8.1?? I've looked at the boot configuration data from 8.1 (and from Windows Teams) and copied it over to 10 without success ultimately there is something different at the boot stage that the SH doesn't recognize - any ideas on how to overcome this? What differences are there with the boot files in 8.1 vs 10?

    Thanks!

Do you have full telemetry enabled?

    Hey NavyLCDR,

That appears to be a Windows 10 TEAMS option not hardware based, my intention is to load Windows 10 PRO as TEAMS is too limited. Although this is not officially supported either is 8.1 or Server 2012 which both work on it, the only issue with 10 Pro is being recognized at boot.

    Thanks,

Are you doing this to use i normally, or just to see if you can do it?

This is like trying to slap a big block dodge hemi engine into a model T and wondering why the bolts do match up :)

    Hello,

I want to install software on it and also run in portrait mode, among other things...
Currently I run an android emulator and its like big phone mode, it's also installed on a rotatable wall bracket, plus I have different software going, what's missing is the windows 10 upgrade so I get out of this 8.1 world....
I already pulled the speakers/cameras off and designed a custom backing to replace those spaces left open and house the motion plus power/source controls, so yeah trying to make it into a v2!

    Thanks,

Well regardless if those "bolts match up", I am still looking to understand the boot file differences between Windows 8 and 10 Pro in order to facilitate this installation.

As far as I know, there are no differences.
